Competitive Edge Racing School Announces $6000 To Win Championship

2008 Championship Race Series Schedule

The Competitive Edge Racing School announces today that their private "Arrive & Drive" Championship Race Series will now include a $6000.00 Championship Purse. The series has been conducted by the racing school since 1999 with racers competing from all over the United States as well as outside of the Country. Daniel Boys from Aldershot, England finished in third place in the 2004 season the same year that Jessica Cyr of Sechelt, British Columbia became not only the youngest champion in the series at only 18 but also the first female.

The Competitive Edge Racing School, which began in 1997, is based at State Line Speedway in Post Falls, ID just 35 miles east of the Spokane International Airport in Spokane, WA. The race series will host seven events with fourteen races over six weekends at State Line Speedway in 2008. A double header event will be held in August to make up the seven events.

Points are awarded at each event with racers throwing out their worst finish in two of the races for their championship total points. "This allows for a racer to have a bad weekend or maybe even miss an event completely and still being in the hunt for the championship" said Randy Koch, cofounder and lead instructor at the racing school. "This race series was designed to meet two needs in the racing industry. Some of our racers are young, up & comers, looking for their entry into latemodel stock car racing while some of the other's are professionals looking for a fun and competitive way to race."

The series competes in purpose built late-model stock cars fielded and maintained by the racing school's staff. "There is NO-race car to purchase, work-on, or transport" as it says in the Competitive Edge brochure, "Just show up and put on a suit and helmet and compete door handle to door handle in equally prepared race cars." The cost of participating in the race series is only $995.00 per event or you can purchase the entire season at a discount for just $6500.00 if you sign up by April 1st. They have even structured a payment plan to ease the costs of going racing. At each event you will be behind the wheel for 75 laps of practice, a two-lap qualifying session where all of the racers drive the same car to make things equal, and (two) 25 lap races.

"This year we have made two major changes to our series. The first is, we are going to start most of the weekend events on Friday at 2pm allowing those driver's that are traveling, the opportunity to travel on Friday morning and hopefully save them having to take an extra day off of work," added Koch, "The second change is the points fund. The season will take the green flag May 16th-18th with one event being held each month, except for August which has two events, and concludes September 19th-21st when someone will be awarded the $6000.00 check. All of the events one of the Competitive Edge Racing School's one or two-day racing school programs the day before the race series event allowing participants looking to get started, the opportunity to complete the course requirements and compete in the same weekend.

Qualifications:

All drivers must have a valid drivers license. If under 18, driver needs parental approval. Drivers & riders must fit into the seat with safety belts fastened properly.

Insurance:

Students are not responsible for damage to the cars in Half-Day racing programs. In the 2 Day Competition and Racing Series Events, an insurance premium of $100 per day is required and limits liability for car damage to $1,500 per incident.

Scheduling:

No refunds, no exceptions! All programs must be paid in full at time of enrollment. Advance registration is mandatory for all programs. With the exception of Racing Series events, you may reschedule your program up to 30 days prior for a fee of $50.
