Dale Jarrett Driving Adventure

I just wanted to let you all know that I think Dale Jarrett’s Racing Adventure is the best school for the money. I drove at Talladega (20 laps) earlier this month, and I plan on driving again in Atlanta in a year or so. They definitely let you drive the car, and not force you to drive behind a pace car. They advertise speeds of 165, but I actually topped out at 170-175. We had 6 cars on the track, and I passed 3 of them (1 twice), and would have passed them all if I had 1 or 2 more laps.

My only complaint, and it’s really not a complaint, is that the in car video malfunctioned. The video and RPM portion of the video was flawless, but the speedometer didn’t work. But, I was able to tell how fast I was going by looking at the Tach.

I would definitely recommend this to ANYONE who wants a thrill of a lifetime!!

Panoz Racing School

I wanted to let you know, I took the 3 day Panoz Race School in Sebring Florida in January (signed up via your website). I had a terrific time, and would highly recommend this course to anybody interested in driving GT style race cars.

Day 1 was a 1/2 day class room instruction, and then 1/2 day performing driving exercises (skid
pad, braking, etc) and lead-follow exercises.
Day 2 was on the track with lead-follow exercises and practice sessions.
Day 3 was on the track with open practices.

All 3 days were extremely well taught, and the class progressed at a very good pace. The instructors were very well spoken and the student/teacher ratio was unbelievable - lots of personal attention. After each stint on the track, the instructors were right there for feedback and suggestions.

The cars were a lot of fun to drive, handling very well and providing lots of feedback.

Overall, I would give this school 5 stars and recommend it to anyone.

Regards,
Bruce Fisher

Arizona Indoor Kart Championship

What’s better than being paid to race? Paying very little to race!! In racing, it doesn’t get more inexpensive than indoor karting. The racing is convenient as it can be, as all karts and equipment is provided. The cost is minimal ($70 per team entry for a 1 hour race in this case), and in a competitive environment such as the Arizona Indoor Kart Championship, any driver regardless of level of skill and experience, will be challenged. Derek Daly Driving Academy

We arrived at Las Vegas Motorspeedway bright and early on Saturday August 16, 2003, prepped and ready for the day of Formula car driving ahead of us. I was excited, as this would my first experience driving an actual race car. Having worked at racingschools.com off and on for the last five years, I had heard great things about the Derek Daly program, but had never experienced it myself.

Derek Daly Driving Academy

This experience starts of course, with its prime location, the unique and exciting city of Las Vegas! The lure of the visual attractions, gambling, free drinks, and shows can keep one awake until the late hours without even realizing. That's great, but not if you have to drive a racecar the following morning... Its important not to get carried away and not to forget the driving program the next day! Of course, everyone has their own limits, so knowing my own, I check-in at the Stratosphere Hotel/Casino at about 10PM, after a 5 hour drive from Phoenix, after a full day of work... and just had to go down to the casino to try my luck!

Bertil Roos Racing School

After getting back from the Bertil Roos Racing School, I have changed my tune on who to recommend for race instruction. We ( Woodhouse Auto Family and 21 fellow gearheads ) have gone to racing schools for the past 9 Winters to cure Cabin Fever, and this year we trekked to Virginia International Raceway to drive the Formula 2000 of Bertil Roos. Wow, this is one cool school, and at 125mph down the straight and brakes that practically rip your helmet off, these are FUN cars!! The cool part is that there is NO LIABILITY for drivers and you get to pass as early as Day 1!Ryan (my son) got his SCCA license and so did some other folks from nearby, so we should have some more track rats in the Nebraska Region real soon. I would check out www.racingschools.com as we got plenty of seat time and the level of instruction was superb. Bob Woodhouse. and I both felt we learned alot from the classroom, and this has been an area of deficiency over the past few years. The food was unreal at VIR, and since Bertil Roos provided lunch , it was an added plus.If you want to go very fast, get a ton of quality information , have an open track experience, and be able to get into a rythm ,this is the place to go!!!

Robert, Being a complete novice in the racing circuit, yet suffering from the insatiable "speed-bug", I was extremely anxious to participate in your Viper Racing School. I found your staff, levels of service, and overall experience to be first class! Look for me again in the near future..

Panoz Racing School

The booking is made and the day gets closer. Then it is here. Just getting to see the Road Atlanta track brings a thrill. It has an aura about it, and then you see turn 12 and your heart tells you that this is going to be fun.

Feedback from a day at Thunderhill Racetrack

"I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the instruction you provided me during the recent driver's school at the Thunderhill track in Willows, California. I especially appreciated your style of instruction which not only conveyed information very precisely but was very professional and delivered with genuine respect for the student and the subject matter". "Once again, thank you for your time, courage, patience and instruction on the finer points of driving".

Feedback from a day at Thunderhill race track

"You have a gift in instruction. The tough thing is knowing your subject and then how to communicate with your students. Making knowledge acceptable to wide range of personalities is difficult and you seemed to do it quite well".

"What I liked about Gordon was his specific explanation about how to perform technical maneuvers as well as why they work was exceptional. Also, he wasn't afraid to point out where mistakes were made and how to correct them. He did a great job with positive comments too("you held good speed through that section", "you set that turn up nicely", "that guy screwed up but you did exactly the right thing to avoid an accident -good save")".

"I think what I'll remember the most is how critical it is to keep the car balanced, and how breathing on the brake can settle the car nicely (in particular going into turn 8). With the help of your coaching I was able to learn to feel what the car was doing and how to smoothly control it with very slight use of the brake, accelerator, and steering".

Feedback from a High Performance Course day

"Thank you for the great instructional and exciting road course yesterday, I believe you have found your calling. It was really good working with you". "I appreciate your Assessment since it is detailed and reminds me of what I have to keep working on - and overall it tells me that I am still teachable - even after all these years".

Open wheel racing woohoo! The Competition course is for 3 days. Day 1 has some general orientation (class room) & then some testing time in the car. Slalom course which was then followed by threshold braking combined with heal-toe downshifting. 2nd day we practiced the 'tricky' section of the course & then lapping in the afternoon. 3rd day was all lapping. I managed to shave 20 seconds off my lap times when comparing the first & last sessions. Smokin'... where's Andretti... I can take him. I never had any safety concerns while I was there, there's only a small section with a retaining wall while the rest of the track is wide open. I'm saving my pennies to go again. See ya there. ~ Michael Berube

Endurance Karting

On July 5 and 6 of 2002, I attended the Endurance Karting school and participated in the Road America 500 7 hour endurance race. It took place at the Motorplex, which is a new track located inside of the main track by the turn known as the Carousel. The American LeMans series was also going on at the same time, so in addition to the karting, everyone got to see some racing on the 4-mile road course.

On the first day, the driving school took place. The go cart track was configured to be one half mile around. If you look at a track map, you will see that it can be set up many different ways, depending on where cones are located.

Equipment was available for rental. As long as you wore long pants, you only needed a driving jacket, instead of a driving suit. This was far more convenient between sessions after you were done driving. In addition, a neck brace and helmet were required. A rib protector was optional but highly recommended.

The driving school lasted all day, and everyone got a lot of seat time. The carts were capable of going 50 MPH. When you stood by and watched them, they appeared to be going really slow. But then, when you actually drove one, it was another story. When you’re sitting an inch or 2 off the ground, your perspective really changes. The carts were fast enough to require braking in all but turn one, which could be taken flat out. It took many laps before you would realize it.

At the end of the first day, I was tired and already full of bruises. On the second day, the 7-hour endurance race took place. I was assigned to a 4-man team. We were required to make 19 driver changes, 2 of which would include fuel stops. Our team decided to each take turns driving for 20 minutes per session. There were 17 teams, which meant there would be 17 carts on the track. This made for a lot of wheel-to-wheel racing.

At the end of 7 hours, everyone was very tired and sore. I’m glad I used a rib protector. Some padding material taped into the seat would have helped. I’ll remember that for next time.

I’ve raced formula cars and stock cars a few times, but this was a more intense racing experience. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to go racing, you might want to consider karting. I recommend it highly.

Competition 101 Review

On April 18, 19, and 20, 2001, I attended the 3 day short track racing school at Competition 101. The chief instructor is Stuart Lycett, and his assistant is named Jeff. Both of them are very knowledgeable and experienced with short track oval racing. The instruction took place at Desoto Speedway, which is located near Bradenton Florida. Click for more

Dave Blaney's Outlaw Driving Experience

One of the latest additions to the Racingschools.com network is the Dave Blaney Outlaw Driving Experience. Like many of our customers, everyone usually has their favorite discipline in racing. For me, it's a 1200 lb., 700 horse power winged sprint car on dirt! Click for more

I was really looking forward to this trip for a couple of reasons. One, my brother-in-law Mike was attending with me which was a real treat. Two, I've participated and continue to participate on an occasional basis in drag racing with my '73 Camaro which I run in pro class. I was curious what it would be like to strap myself into a super comp dragster. Click for more

Track Time Review

Myself, a friend and my family attended the full day stock car school at Michigan International Speedway on June 18th 2000. To say the least the people there made the day better than I could have ever wished for.

From the class room to the final session in the stock cars was an experience I'll never forget. The thing that impressed us all the most was how outgoing all the instructors were. They gave rides in the street cars to everyone there. The flag man that day took my girlfriend around and let her stand on the flag stand for pictures. The instructors and mechanics in the garage let my parents tour and get a close up look of all the cars.

I will definitely recommend Track Time to anyone interested in taking a racing school. We have already been thinking about going back for the advance course at Michigan.

Thanks again

I participated in the Drivetech Racing School 1-day Championship Adventure at California Speedway. At this point, I had decided that I wouldn't be taking part in any more driving experiences that incorporated the lead follow format. It was time to try something more challenging. Click for more

Competition 101 Testimonial

I've been involved in auto racing for a long time, strictly on the mechanic side of it. I decided to give driving a try so I contacted Stuart Lycett through Racingschools.com. I signed up for the three day school and let me tell you that was the best experience I ever had. Stu is a great teacher and a wonderful person to learn from! I had one day of chassis setup of which Pete Orr & Hank put on. If I could remember just half of what they have forgotten I'd be in great shape. Two men that really know what they are talking about! The three of them treated me like I was really in for the big times of which I'm just a Saturday Night Racer. To this day I still am in contact with them asking them about different set-ups, and after every call they still say let me know how you did! I would recommend this school for anyone interested in bettering themselves.

Thanks,
Mark Uhernik

Competition 101 Testimonial

I recently contacted Racingschools.com to try something different. I've been racing in a nationwide formula 2000 series for a long time. I know most of the tracks on the east coast, Lime Rock and Watkins Glen are my home tracks. Before F2000 racing, I raced motocross through adolescence into my 20's. Having an itch to try a form of NASCAR racing, I contacted Racingschools.com and was amazed at the many possibilities available to me. Within a month, after some planning, and traveling I was at a 3/8th mile oval track in Florida, with a pit crew and a 550 horsepower Late Model stock car. The guys were friendly and helpful. This kind of car was totally new to me, so we took it slow, getting familiar with the track and the car was thrilling. The crew was friendly and very supportive to all my needs and questions, totally professional. I had three practice days, to learn all the basics, and to become comfortable in the car. I opted to race the car on my third day, my final practice day was Friday and there was a race that night. You can go as far with this as your budget will allow you to. The race was incredibly thrilling seeing the grass roots of NASCAR. But the great thing is, you don't need experience to just try the two or three day practice sessions, I recommend this to anyone who is interested in a safe, fun and absolutely real nascar experience. I also suggest you contact Racingschools.com first as they are true professionals and really helped to steer me in the right direction.
