Since 1996 Wide Open Baja has provided guests and corporate clients with a truly unique adventure opportunity. The vision of company founder and off-road racer Todd Clement, is to share the joy of high-speed Baja driving with thousands of clients from around the world.
Much more than a simple racing school or guided low-speed tour, the Wide Open experience pushes the envelope of an adventure-based vacation. Their exclusive open-wheel tour cars provide their guests with the performance and safety of a modern desert racer, but are comfortable enough for anyone to drive. Seasoned guides lead you through the entire journey. Your vacation is planned to the final detail. Just show up with a pioneering spirit and a desire to experience the uncluttered vistas of this very special land. Whether choosing one of several excursion packages or to create an exclusive private tour, you can also include some of Baja's other great recreational opportunities as part of your total adventure experience. Baja is rugged, untamed, and truly wide open. With trips starting from San Diego and Cabo San Lucas, you can choose from several amazing tours to visit the mystical Baja peninsula.
And, just because their trips get a little dirty doesn't mean they are uncivilized. Wide Open Bajas' trips all include first-class accommodations (where possible) and the finest meals that Baja has to offer. Even miles from nowhere, Wide Open makes sure too extend their legendary hospitality in even the most remote situations.

All trips include:
A custom built Baja Challenge car, lodging, meals, a full staff which includes, a professional guide, chase crew, mechanics, fuel, training and orientation, airport transfer in San Diego, a welcome cocktail each evening and "The Time of Your Life."
Price is on a per-person basis. Drivers and co-drivers alternate driving throughout the trip.

Optional limited vehical insurance ($175.00-$350.00)
Equipment rental of $40.00 which includes a helmet, dust skirt, neck collar and kidney belt.

Notes: The operator's various policies are spelled out below. Please make sure you read and understand them before you make your final purchase decision.
All program dates have been confirmed but are subject to change due to circumstances beyond the operator's control.
Qualifications:
All drivers must be 18 years of age or older, with a valid drivers license.
Insurance:
Optional limited vehical insurance ($225.00-$350.00) with a $3,000.00 deductible.
Following confirmation of your enrollment in the program date of your choice, a representative from Wide Open will contact you directly to collect your insurance premiums fees.
Scheduling:
A 40% non-refundable deposit is due to hold your place in one of the classes, with the balance due at least 60 days prior to the experience date. With at least 90 days notice the deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to another date. With at least 30 days notice there is a 10% fee charge. Less than 30 days notice a 25% fee will be charged. They accept reschedulings up until 24 hours prior to the program, at a 50% course fee. No refunds will be issued for any reason.

Program Notes: These programs and prices are designed for two people per vehicle, if you are looking to do any of these programs alone you will be responsible for purchasing both seats of the vehicle; If you don't purchase both seats you will be matched with another single participant.

Soon, you will cross the international border in Tijuana for a picturesque drive down the Baja coast. Time permitting, the group will stop for a round of margaritas and appetizers at La Fonda's famed ocean-front patio bar.
Sweeping ocean vistas are the prelude to arriving in Ensenada. A brief journey east on Highway 3 brings your group to an unmarked dirt road and then the peaceful beauty of their Horsepower Ranch.
Settle into one of their guest rooms, then join your guide in the comfortable Grand Room for a "Driver's Meeting." Prepare yourself for one of life's great adventures by getting familiar with their specialty-built Baja Challenge cars parked just outside in the center courtyard.
The day will be complete thanks to a gourmet Mexican BBQ and cocktails in the ranches' new "Mad Dog's Carrera Cantina." Check out the historical Baja racing photography and play a game of shuffleboard, or head outside for a poolside bonfire.
