Introduction:

Racingschools.com - Buck Baker Racing SchoolBuck Baker, a member of SIX RACING HALL OF FAMES and voted one of the 50 greatest drivers in NASCAR history, created the Buck Baker Racing School in 1980. Buck Baker retired from driving with two NASCAR Winston Cup Championships and 46 Winston Cup Victories. He then recognized the need for a "Real Time" NASCAR type racing school that would allow the opportunity for professionals to hone their skills, racers looking to move up to Nextel Cup to test their talents, and for corporate groups and fans to experience an adventure of a lifetime. For over two decades,, they have presented year-round racing programs at some of NASCAR's most famous racetracks, hosting thousands of students and corporate guests annually.

Racingschools.com - Buck Baker Racing School Names like Jeff Gordon, Ward Burton, Joe Nemechek, Ricky Craven, David and Jeff Green, Tony Stewart, Danny Sullivan, Tim Steele, Lance Hooper, Bobby Hillin, Lynn St. James and Tammy Jo Kirk all have chosen to take a Buck Baker school program at some point.

The Buck Baker Racing School can teach you the skills needed to become a race car driver. Using NASCAR Nextel Cup style stockcars, you'll learn what it takes to be competitive in the demanding world of stockcar racing. If you have prior experience racing on road courses, short tracks or dirt tracks, the Buck Baker Racing School can fine tune your current skills, making the difficult transition to high-banked stock car racing a little easier. If you have no prior experience, Buck Baker Racing School can help you "start on the right track"

Basic One Day

Prices Starting At: $950.00

Your program starts with a 45 minute classroom session during which you'll learn the importance of understanding the flags, the safety features in the cars and driving the proper "line" on the race track in addition to the effects a driver can have on the car. Then, you will be driven around the track to learn the racing "line" in a passenger van driven by your instructor. The track reference points for throttle control and the location of the apex in the turns will be some of the features explained at that time.

Next, you'll become familiar with the race car, how to strap in and the operation of the safety equipment, gauges and powertrain. After discussing safety, communications, passing techniques, and pit road conduct, you will suit-up and strap in with an instructor driving, to show you that by driving the "line" properly, you can run quickly and safely.

You will then drive the Nextel Cup Stockcar with an instructor in the passenger seat observing you through the first few laps. Now it's time to put the training to work as you begin your driving sessions with 4-6 other students on the track at the same time. Students drive at their own pace and can pass each other. The number of driving laps on this 1 Day program will range from 33 laps to 53 laps depending on the size of the track where your program is being held.

  • 35 laps Atlanta & Lowe's: $650.00
  • 45 laps Richmond, Rockingham, & Darlington: $650
  • 55 laps Bristol: $650
