Introduction

Competition 101 is a racing school, not a driving experience. Instruction centers on using the racecar’s full potential with and emphasis on competitive results. Our one-on-one programs provide for full attention. Programs are formatted to fit each driver’s individual needs. Complete a three day racing school and go racing the same weekend. Participate in a 25, 50 or 100 lap feature race at a local racetrack. School programs are offered at DeSoto Speedway and Orlando Speedworld. Competition 101 is located in Central Florida, close to all the local attractions. Contact us for availability dates and directions.

ASA Racing

ASA racecars are very similar to Super Late Models. They must maintain a 105” wheelbase and a weigh of 2700 lbs. Offset or Perimeter style chassis are approved for competition in the ASA series. ASA Late Models run a manufacturer’s sealed engine that must maintain an “as shipped” condition. They are equipped with a Holley 650 CFM HP carburetor and Crane Cam ignition system, producing between 400-415 hp. The ASA Late Model Series conducts events in many parts of the country, some events include television.

FASCAR MODIFIEDS

Competition 101 also offers an asphalt modified. Modifieds are open wheel, offset chassis racecars. They have a wheelbase of 108” and weigh 2500 pounds. Engines are a maximum of 362 cubic inches that have cast iron OEM heads. They produce about 600-650 hp with a 750 CFM Holley carburetor. Competition 101 enters its modifieds into local races in the Central Florida area. This type of racing provides solid eight cylinder experience in a very competitive environment.

HOOTER'S PRO CUP

Hooters Pro CupThe Hooter's Pro Cup car is very similar to the Busch cars, really the only difference is they run a quick change rear end instead of the traditional 9" and they run flat top piston motors as opposed to the Busch 9 to 1 motors. They weigh 3300 to 3400 lb., other than that they are just like a Busch car. In fact most of the guys that race the Hooter's series buy their cars from Busch or Nextel Cup teams. This series now has two divisions, one northern and one southern with two points systems, at the end of the year an overall champion is crowned. This series has a very respectable following, a lot of the drivers have raced in the Busch series and they also have a lot of young drivers looking to advance their racing career. This series has very tight competition and the purses are very respectable, definitely for the person looking for a little something more.

DIRT MODIFIEDS

Competition 101 dirt modified carCompetition 101 has recently introduced dirt track racing to our clients. A very good source for the development of driver skill. A dirt Modified is similar in appearance to the asphalt modified, but several differences set them apart. They have four-link suspensions and higher roll centers. Engine size maximum is 362 cubic inches with steel heads. With a 500 CFM carburetor they produce 500-515hp. Competition 101 enters its dirt Modified in weekly events at East Bay Speedway in Tampa, Florida.

FASCAR MINI-STOCKS

In addition, we offer mini-stock racecars. Mini-stocks are full race chassis, Late-Model style racecars. They have powerful four-cylinder engines and two barrel carburetors.

DIRT MINI-STOCKS

Dirt Mini-Stocks are also available to students. These dirt track cars have a full race chassis, with a higher roll center. This racecar is also powered by a four-cylinder engine.
